Wicked Smart and Funny, Too

Comedienne Amy Poehler gave a great graduation speech to the Harvard Class of 2011.  Though her advice was geared toward a group of undergraduates, I think several gems like the following quotes apply to people of any age and station in life:

“Just because you’re wicked smart doesn’t mean you’re better than me.”

“You can’t do it alone.  As you navigate through the rest of your life, be open to collaboration.”

Lessons from Improvisation Rules: “Listen.  Say yes.  Live in the moment.  Make sure you play with people who have your back.  Make big choices early and often.  Don’t start a scene where two people are talking about jumping out of a plane.  Start the scene having already jumped.  If you’re scared, look into your partner’s eyes; you will feel better.”
