Today’s inspirational spark:
I had the honor of assisting with the Delgado family at graduation today. Many family, friends, classmates, and professors were in attendance and very proud of the awarding of a posthumous degree for Ms. Denise Delgado, a Political Science major student at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Her brother and two young children walked the stage to collect Ms. Delgado’s Bachelor’s degree. There was a standing ovation by the Class of 2015 when her name was read.
Denise was a beautiful person, hardworking student, dedicated mother, and good friend to many people. As one of her professors, today was mixed with happy and sad feelings.
If you would like to support her little boys and their grandmother who is taking care of them, please contribute to https://www.gofundme.com/delgadoboys and/or spread the word. Every little bit helps. God bless!
“When those you love die, the best you can do is honor their spirit for as long as you live. You make a commitment that you’re going to take whatever lesson that person or animal was trying to teach you, and you make it true in your own life… it’s a positive way to keep their spirit alive in the world, by keeping it alive in yourself.”
